Dear friends and colleagues,
If you scroll down to the bottom of this page, you can access the slide deck I have been using in recent presentations with educators. They have been in development for about a decade, and reflect my recent research, my experience as a teacher, my conversations with mentors (at the University of Toronto, Carol-Anne Bush, Adele Diamond and Peg Dawson), and my learning from the back and forth I have with thousands of educators I have shared them with.
I know they are not perfect, because translating science to complex contexts is a messy business. Please take them with a grain of salt and know that there are a million versions of your context that may not fit these ideas perfectly. There are so many different approaches and interventions that may work better than what I have proposed. That said, someone has to try to put it all together, use what they know about how schools/classrooms/teaching-learning relationships work, and suggest a starting place.
I share them with you to support your learning, but ask you please not to put them up on the internet, or use them for any type of commercial purpose. I DO hope you’ll share them with your colleagues. I do hope you’ll refer to them in your own brilliant works, businesses, and projects.
Remember that my Office Hours link is live, and that you can always book a chat with me to discuss.
